Finally- completed blue sapphire project.. times two!

Well, I am back and my Barry Bridgestock sapphire is set! I also took some photos of my mom''s, which I never got around to doing after she received hers for Christmas.

Quick stats- the bigger one is around 1.8 ct, 7 mm, light blue untreated umba sapphire,BB cut
my mom''s is 1.2 ct, 6 mm, a darker more classic blue, but also untreated umba sapphire, BB cut

I love them both

And I am soooo thrilled to finally have my sapphire set, on my hand, where I can be distracted by it all day. Photos coming... hang with me as I resize!

in artificial lighting, which makes them both color change to purple. This one is very accurate on the color of mine, but my mom''s I could not quite get perfectly. It turns into this stunning tanzanite purple. When I brought it to the jewler to be set, the woman working there absolutely did not believe me that it was a sapphire. She told me they really needed to know, since tanzie is much softer than sapphire

Of course, she also didn''t believe me about the color change.. what can you do! They did a great setting job though, which is all I cared about. OH, and when I told her what I paid for it, she asked if it was synthetic

This one shows the color change on the little guy slightly better, but not a nicely as the real thing.

Thanks akmiss! I am really happy with how the sapphire ended up looking in the setting. It was a fabulous deal too
