I finally did, didn't I? And here I was saying nit to use flash. Such a silly little rookie. I haven't posted about the amy. It's just a little Costco number my DH bought to go with a necklace he'd gotten me before. I hadn't been able to capture it's color well before tonight, but thank you much! |

Thing is, I tried it again with my piont and shoot and it didn't work. I think it was the angle and because the flash wasn't directly on the stones (plus I used my DSLR). I'm going to keep experimenting. Taking pics of bling is probably one of my favorite things to do. And thank you everyone else! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that you like my amethyst. |

I recently started experimenting with flash for jewelry photos as well and I am getting quite pleased. For me, one thing that worked very well was to use a diffuser - fancy word for taping a piece of kleenex over the bulb.
