Does anyone have a colored stone tennis bracelet?

I'm thinking about having one made using 6.5mm to 6.3mm blue, green and white stones set in three or four prongs. I would like to see pictures if you have them and/or hear your thoughts on this project. I'm kind of worried it may look odd. These are the stones I have so far. I was going to put some white zircons between them and continue that pattern.

I probably wouldn't advise putting in anything softer than a spinel in a bracelet, unless you wore it infrequently. Zircon, peridot, and other soft stones will chip easily, and are brittle.

I don't think my wife would wear it very often. So I'm not too concerned about damage my concern is more about how well it would look.

Well, there are lots of colored stone tennis bracelets being sold. Just look at the various shopping channels, and they have them. I don't think it will look bad at all, my big concern is damage, in particular if you're paying a lot for some of these gems. I personally would use spinels, but if you're not worried about damage, then the sky is the limit on what you can use. Hope that helps.

I am concerned about damage as well because you are resting your wrist here and there and chipping will be a huge issue for me unless it’s so inexpensive that you won’t blink an eyelid to find and replace the stones.

Why not, Kittykitty? It's so pretty! Love the color progression.

I've got a bracelet similar to Herekittykitty's and I don't wear mine either!

Here's a few of mine that I guess you could call tennis bracelets? If not, then I guess they fall under the heading of multi coloured stone bracelets. I hope this helps?

First photo: Various bracelets (from left: white zircon, one that is unmentionable, alexandrite, alexandrite, sapphire, colour change sapphires, colour change sapphires, fire opal, garnet, spinel, apatite)

Second photo: Amethyst and blue topaz

Third photo: Colour change sapphires

Fourth photo: Spinels

I told my wife about this project idea and she reminded me about the amethyst bracelet I give her many years ago. It has held up well, but she hasn't worn it in a long time. So the idea is for something like this using round, blue, white and green stones in white gold. What do you think?

I also own a rainbow sapphire bracelet. I wear mine mostly in the summer, for two reasons. The colors match the brighter colored clothing that I wear then, and secondly, you can actually see it when I'm not wearing long sleeves in the winter for warmth. :wink2:

I love the combo of colors you are thinking about. I'd take a look at her clothing and other jewelry, and make sure it goes with the rings, earrings and pendants she is likely to be wearing. I find that while I don't actually own suites of jewelry, I do tend to wear certain pieces of my jewelry together because I like how they coordinate.

For the reasons Chrono stated - so easy to damage. In fact, the last green stone on mine at the clasp has heavy damage. I could have the bracelet modified since its too big anyway.....

I think it would be really pretty, it would be something I personally would love to wear.
I love those amethyst hearts too, BTW

Not everyone loves bracelets, but I wear them a lot, although I don't have many.
I am with Fly Girl, it is fun to wear them in summer.

I picked up a few more stones today and put them all together. I think it may end up "graduated", it seemed to look a little better.

This thread made me think about an aqua bracelet that I received as a gift. I haven't been able to find it in years.... I think it got lost in a move or something, or maybe my mom has it? Gah! Where is it?!!

I agree, Joe, really gorgeous stones for a bracelet. It will look smashing (but I hope she doesn't smash it!). I also love the amethyst hearts, wow, wish you'd give some lessons in jewelry to my husband!

Thanks iLander! Wow, is there anything Costco doesn't sell? Do you think it would be good quality?

From an antiques dealer. Not an antique and I bought cheap for what it is (I think).
