your e-ring is beautiful,Image it''s a nice pop of color that would stand out for miles... congrats on your engagement as well. I assume that you play...does your e-ring affect your finger movement or do you wear it on your right hand?

Thank you!! I do play- so far I''ve been alright keeping it on my left hand, the stone does turn sometimes but when I''m in an ensemble rehearsal that''s easily remedied. When I''m working on solo pieces, I do move it over to the right hand when it starts to drive me crazy ;)

What is the setting on this ring?? I want my ering to be a pink stone (not sure what kind yet still doing research) but I absolutely love that setting!! Thanks

Post by GirlCellist » February 19th, 2008, 5:24 pm
The setting is 14k YG cathedral, 3mm tapered band, with WG 6-prong setting. It''s pretty simple, but I like the clean lines!

I don''t think I ever posted my gemstone rings in here.

My first platinum piece from my husband - not sure of specs, but baguette sapphires and 2.6 mm diamonds.

My sapphire RHR - setting with approx. .30 ct. of sapphires and .20 ct. of diamonds.  The sapphire is unfortunately a poorly cut .78 ct. sapphire.

Heres my Peridot, my aunt left to me when she past away because we had the same birthstone.  I don''t know anything about these and had really forgotten about it until I saw this post.  I guess I need to take it and see if it worth replacing the small diamond thats missing.  What do u think?

I''d have it replaced. It should be very inexpensive for a stone that small. If you get a high quote, check somewhere else. It would be nice to restore the ring since it is a family piece!

I love the star-cut on that perdot cwj. Very unusual. I would definitely have that tiny diamnd replaced and would wear the ring proudly!

This is what I''m wearing as my wedding set: a 2 carat native cut ceylon blue sapphire set in a lucida inspired platinum setting made by Mark Morrell. I then had the luck to find a small, 2mm eternity band alternating between sapphires and diamonds, finished with milgrain and embossing on the sides. The two pieces together work perfectly for my taste. Hope you enjoy them too!

That''s an amazing set, upgradable. What color on that sapphire! I''m hoping to get a band just like that one of these days.

Thought I would share a pic of something a bit more unusual. Its a 9ct. imperial topaz set in 22kt gold with 1.85 cts of variously cut diamonds. I bought it for my girlfriend primarily because it was an unusual and rare stone, in a very unusual setting. More than any other ring, this gets the most comments.
