A cabochon Rubellite bracelet containing 22.5ct of gemstones.
A multi sapphire bracelet to wear as an "everyday" summer bracelet - sapphires will, I'm sure, be highly treated but the price reflects that so I'm not concerned in this instance. |

Here are those pics of the spess garnets.
The first one is a 7.25 ct oval. The second is a 3.22 ct round. It looks a little yellowish here but IRL it's much more orange.

LovingDiamonds, PLEASE post pictures of your bracelets! They sound beautiful!
Lady Disdain, sorry to hear that . I wouldn't receive anything r/t colored stones either if I didn't actually say "Please, I would love X for Christmas/ birthady."

Thanks, packrat! I love these oranges, too. Reminds of an orange lifesaver- yum! Have to remind myself that if I give in to temptation, I'll break a tooth What's your present? Is it something from Sally? Please re-fresh my memory! |

My emerald is really pretty!
Its slightly lighter than what I would have preferred. IRL, its a gorgeous shade of deeper medium grass green in the gem box on its white cotton padding. When I take it out and put it on my hand, however, its a medium green-seafoam sort of color. I'm wondering if a bezel, with a mostly enclosed back, would help deepen the color on this stone. Any ideas?

Such pretty pretty pretties! I never get stones as gifts either but it's just as well. DH would never know how to choose one -- if I wanted a vintage car, though, he's the go-to guy! (Actually, I'd like an old Corvette w/the teeth grille, an original Thunderbird, a Jaguar Mark II for starters, after I get my blue spinel & green tourm set!) Enjoy & congratulations, giftees!

Your emerald is gorgeous!! You really must be pleased! I think that shade of green is beautiful. I have one little round emerald (about 4.5 mm) and it's set in a yellow gold bezel and it's a deeper green-- unfortunately I'm no help here because I never saw it before it was set. I'm guessing bezeling would deepen the shade of green of yours, since setting a stone in a bezel generally seems to darken it a bit. But, I do love the color of your stone

I love seeing everyone's new pretties.
I did not get any CS gifts this year. My husband gave me a gift to support my other new hobby, cooking. He got me a week of cooking lessions at a good cooking school in the area. However, I will not be able to go for the next 6 months. If I can't go in the fall (due to time off issues), I might put the money towards a CS . I think my husband likes my cooking hobby as he benefits directly from it. However, as a gift to myself, I am sending my Richard Homer Spess to JKT this month. I will be starting a thread about setting ideas soon. |

Very pretty stones! The blue green tourmaline from Barry is really lovely; I'm looking forward to your pictures of it. The spess is gorgeous, too! I think I have its twin! |

Thanks! I'm very pleasantly surprised at how saturated both these stones are, the spess glows, and the tour sparkles like the caribbean. They actually look great side by side.

I promise I will towards the end of the week. I've just been given a new laptop for Christmas and can't get the camera software loaded and it's driving me nuts! When I've got more time I'll persevere!
