Advice on a sapphire ring

Could someone give me advice on whether the ring in the link is a good buy? What would the real retail value for a ring like this be?
I am looking for something nice for my mum's 60th birthday and I am not sure it is something that is worth of the price listed. Thanks.

The retail value can be anything depending on who’s selling it and what one is willing to pay. I agree that the stone is darkish but considering that it is nearly 4 carats and unheated, the platinum setting and good quality melee diamonds, it’s a fair price. The last I recall, SP has a good return policy so it's probably worth seeing it in person to make your final decision.

Will agree with Ed & Chrono on this. Worth is what someone will pay for a piece. Now that said, it is platinum, you're getting lovely diamonds, and you're getting a papered center stone.

Ask them to see the GIA Cert on the stone. I certainly can't hurt.
