Website address on RSVP Card?

I seem to remember this coming up before but I was unable to find the thread.

We are having really simple invitations (just one sheet with the hosts, date, and location) and an RSVP card.

Would it be weird or wrong if, at the bottom of the rsvp card we put our wedding website?

I want to put it on there so people can get detailed directions, and read about the room block I set up and such. So far I have not even linked our wedding registry up to it (we are using the knot) but I probably will once we get it all straightened out.

Did we decide if this was acceptable or not? Or rude? It wont be on the actual invitation, just on the RSVP. Hmmm...i wonder if people will just send it back to us and not check it out/write it down?

I supposed I can just send everyone an email (or have my mom send it) telling people to check out our site.

Anyway, love to hear your thoughts.

I certainly don''t think it''s rude. My only concern would be what you already mentioned - guests sending the card back without looking at the site or copying down the address. I would suggest either a) send the mass email - anyone likely to actually visit the website should have an email address, or b) Add a small third card to your invites with the website address. Maybe use one of the Vistaprint free offers to get a bunch of business cards printed on the cheap? We''re considering doing that to make cards to put on the guest tables encouraging everyone to upload any photos they take to our photo site.

I don''t think it''s rude at all, but for the same reason ladyciel alluded to, I wouldn''t put it on the RSVP card. Actually, I''m even considering turning the RSVP card into an info card, and instruct people to RSVP by email.

i''m with everyone else on this one--we''re putting in a Directions card with a note telling everyone that additional information regarding accommodations, etc can be found at www.___.com.

I am putting it on my direction card. My website has my registry and accomadation info.

Not to threadjack, but I want to caution people who will be accepting RSVP''s via email. FI and I have a shared email account that is mynameandhisname@___.com. I rarely sign on to that account. A few weeks ago I decided to check it and I found several emails (6 maybe) from people wishing to RSVP for a wedding where the couple''s first names are the same as ours! To make things worse, the wedding date had already passed so I couldn''t email those people and tell them they had the wrong address. I hope they didn''t show up and be unexpected because of the misdirected emails. What a nightmare!

I had three cards in my invitations: the invite, an info card (including website), and an rsvp card.

I saw this thread and wondered what the response would be! We''ve had everyone RSVP on our website (which is through bridalfever.com). It has an RSVP section that sends an email to us. The website also includes how we met, how he proposed, location of ceremony & reception, wedding party, registries, and directions. So far we''ve had a lot of people respond on the website, so it seems like it has worked well. Under the directions, I have a link to weddingmapper.com where I was able to put the location of everything on a map and guests can click a link for specific directions. I''ve had people say that was handy.

Needless to say, I don''t think it is rude. It isn''t the traditional way of doing things, but it saves on postage and paper!
