I had a variety of silver toned frames in which I had set wedding portraits of various family members. We had pictures of his side, my side, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews, etc., along with a couple of photos both casual and posed of Dave and I. Several of them were on the guest book table, some of them were scattered over other locations throughout the room. Lots of people looked at them and said it was a great touch.
Skip the poster idea; nix to any type of collage. Frame them beautifully and find a specific spot -- or frame them and have one at each guest table at the reception. If you''ve got lots of tables, just copy the photos until you have enough to go around. We got some great frames from Hobby Lobby for next to nothing. This idea was very important to me as my mother has passed away, Dave''s dad has passed away, and we are of the age that grandparents have long since passed away. And, my older sister could not be there because she was at the birth of a grandchild, so I needed to incorporate those missing members of my family in the celebration. It was one of my favorite personal things we did for ourselves, and I hope my photographers captured them for posterity. |

I think that''s a wonderful idea to place near the guest book. My parents had a very low key affair when they got married, so no photographer, but I might blow up a photo that someone had taken. I wonder if we have my grandparents photo, never saw them if they did have photos taken... My Oma was a couple months pregnant with my Dad, so I''s sure it was rush, rush to get married. Yes, it even happened in 1936!!!! hahaha
The bridal shop that I went to had a collage frame of great grand parents, grand parents, mom and daughter, I thought that it was so special to have something like that. Maybe you purchase a long frame and see if you would be able to hang it on the wall...? |
