Suit Prices?

Last weekend FI and I went suit shopping as his only suit had gotten a bit snug.  He never really wears a suit except for special occasions, but we''re going to have at least a few coming up and his suit really wasn''t going to work.  There''s a store here that''s going out of business and everything was 40% off last weekend.  We ended up getting him a Ralph Lauren 3-piece suite, 2 shirts and 2 ties for $300.  I was pretty excited that we got such a good deal, but now I see that everything''s 50% off and I''m kicking myself for not waiting a bit longer.  Is the deal we got good?  It''s not like we can return anything, but I just want to put my mind at ease.  I realized I really don''t know anything about the cost of menswear.
