Did you buy a dress bag? I got mine for $10 at David''s and it was the best 10 I''ve ever spent. After my alterations, they cleaned and pressed the dress, folding up the train onto it''s own hanger. It then hung on the back of my closet door where it wouldn''t be disturbed for 1.5 wks before the wedding. There wasn''t a single crease or wrinkle in it when I pulled it out.
I guess my only other advice would be to leave it with the seamstress as long as you dare so it stays as fresh as possible. |

Thanks SB! I do have that $10 david''s bag. You didn''t put it inside the bag for the 1.5 weeks, did you? I figured it would wrinkle in there. My big hope is that the seamstress will let me keep it at her house until the big day, since she lives about 3 mins away from the hotel where I''ll be getting ready. I hope, I hope, I hope!!

I did leave it in the bag, fully zipped, for the 1.5 wks. I don''t know why it didn''t concern me to do so, but I''m glad it didn''t since it was a non-issue.
From everything you''ve said, your seamstress seems like a really nice person who should be open to holding it for you (esp since your big day isn''t too far away). That would''ve been ideal for me too (were it an option). p.s. When do you go for the next fitting? Will she have put the ruffles on the top already? I''m dying to see the updated version. I''m sure it''s going to be fabulous. |

SB--my next fitting is March 25 and she should have the ruffles put on the bustline by then. I will take some pics! I can''t wait!!!!
What a relief to know I can put it back in the bag. I think I''ll ship the other one to Slovenia a few weeks before the wedding and ask my FMIL to have it pressed. God I hope those Slovenian dry-cleaners are good with wedding gowns... |
