Are you sure they were somethingorothers? Could you be remembering forgetmenots? Or whatchamacallits? Or dohickeys?
![]() I have seen some cool ones...not sure where...but I do remember the feather ones really stand out. There is some flower that I was picturing for your dress...this was prior to learning you hired the cream of the crop...tatoo lady. I don''t know what these are called but they look like a round puff on a stick. So similar to what a calla is ...long stem...and then pouff! The flower part. I think your dress can pull of spikey real well. Bet you are excited to have her design it! Must be thrilling. DKS |

DKS, are you thinking of ornamental onions?
http://www.flower-gardening-made-easy.com/alliums.html They come in all sizes and the larger ones are pretty spectacular. Some of them do however smell fainly (or not-sofaintly) of onion. Or maybe you''re thinking of protea? http://www.discoverprotea.com/protea_order.htm They can be very spectacular... I''m going to chime in as the voice of conservatism here. Your silver gown is dramatic in its own right. It could carry an over-the-top bouquet, but you would risk looking like you were walking down a runway rather than an aisle. Personally, I''d go for simple and sophisticated. A stem (or a few stems) of stunning orchids or antherium, for example.

Oops -- double post. Anyhow, here are a few other ideas... Blood lilies. Large tulips. Flowering ginger. A stem of blossoms from a fruiting tree.

Woweeeee! I am loving that first one EBree posted with the red feathers. I don''t think I''d go with the same colours, but I just think the shape and balance of feathers to flowers is fabulous.
I also love Ladyciel''s peacock feather bouquet. i saw some boutonieres somewhere that just had a peackock feather with a single orchid flower attached and loved it. So, this would match. The wire idea is also great. The one with the dangly bits that matches the structured quality of the dress is really cool too. I love the way the florist made it enhance the uniqueness of the dress like that. |

Sure they count! They''re love, Nytemist.
Here are some from the emplume.com site (which I''m now VERY excited about! how cool! Plus you can keep your bouquet for years to come). That would mean firing my florist, though, at least for the central bouquet. But since we''ve only had one meeting, I think that would be OK.

Hey Rainbow... I have NO IDEA what those gray hole things are! I think I''ve seen them before but I can''t remember where...I don''t know if they are animal vegetable or minral. Maybe worms live in them? OK, that''s gross.
I think the feathery rose one at hte top is my fave too. Followed by the weird-sea-creature black and red feather one (with less aggresive coloured feathers). Followed by the cotton ball bouquets (which won''t work with my metal dress). |
