how disappointing...i just got an email from my contact at the letterpress company, requesting information about the price of these invitations.
this is what i got: "I should hasten to say that we did not design that particular invitation. The bride, who is a graphic designer, designed it herself. Most of the work that we print is designed outside the shop. I can estimate an invitation similar to this for you, if you''d like, but we''ll need you to provide us with the artwork. Illustrator files are preferred." !!! i am no graphic designer...but i love these invitations. if i want something similar, how do i go about tweaking this invitation so that she will make it for me? what are "illustrator files?"

Do you know what photoshop is? It''s software to edit photos. Illustrator is kind of similar. It''s computer software for drawing/editing graphics and text. If you''ve never used the software, you''re not going to pick it up and be able to design your invitations!
The press you contacted doesn''t design anything, it seems they just print. I''m afraid you''re going to have to find a different press. There''s a lot of small presses that graphic designers own--if you really like that invite, I''m sure a graphic designer can create something very similar for you. |
