This was posted by LadyPirate in the "Dear Diary" thread:

I don''t know how dressy you''re going for (you''re talking to someone who wore old navy flip flops to her high school prom), but I think that these dress sandles from Anne Klein are really cute and not too expensive...plus they''re kind of lime/peridot colored, which I think matches your theme???

Ballet Flats

I''m no shoe expert, but I saw some of these on my own search for light green flats a couple of weeks ago...

oh my goodness, thank you so much for posting these! (and to ladypirate)

. i think that one or two of those pair might actually work! I''ve just got to see them in person. the color of the jessica bennett ones is PERFECT, but it''s a december wedding in michigan and i''ll be outside for a bit so i''m not sure if those would be the best option! the penny loves kenny ones are absolutely adorable but i think the color might be a little too muted. thanks again! (and keep them coming if you''ve got any more!

Hmm.. I found these. I don''t know if any would work, exactly.

thanks for those links gypsy! i think that the dyeable route might be my best option. i really like those middle ones, but i don''t think i should do sandals in december! i think i might start perusing the dyeables sites! the "cypress" color at david''s is perfect too

I would do dyables. I have a pair and I think I paid 30 bucks for them? So... they are usually pretty affordable. Plus (and everyone says this) you can dye them black afterwards and re-wear them. I think dying is like 10-15 bucks. Might as well. As for sandals in december. Most evening shoes these days are ''sandals''... if you look at the selection of shoes the stores carry at the holidays for evening wear, many of them are sandals. So I wouldn''t worry about it unless you are actually concerned about stepping in snow or something like that. Even then, I''d be more worried traction on the soles than the actual open toe of it all.

We bought FMIL a pair of silver evening shoes last year and they were sandals. Bought them in December for her to wear on NYE. Not a big deal. Plus it''s under your gown.

yeah, i''m not worried so much about sandals *looking* strange as i am about what it''s going to be like walking outside in them - our reception is about a block away from the church and i''m pretty sure we are going to do everything we can to take at least some outdoor pictures. i''m in michigan, so while there might not be any snow, there might be six feet of it and i''d rather not take the risk - i don''t want my feet to get all yucky and wet and then be all slipping around in my shoes all nite!

i think i am going to key an eye on ebay for the next few weeks to see if any cute dyeables come up. thanks again!

oh thanks ladypirate! i must have missed your post the first time around (darn school, taking up all my time

) those are super cute! but they are a little more business casual than i''m going for. but the color on the inside of them is almost exactly what i''m going for!

stephanie - those are great! i love the detail on the toe, but i think they are a little too casual for the dress (and a bit too blue).

i feel bad because you girls are all so great finding these for me and i feel like a jerk who keeps finding things wrong with them! (although i do want them all for my own clinic shoes collection anyways!). i think i am going to go with some plainer dyeables - that way i know they will be dressy enough and i can get the color close enough. thanks again girls ! <3
