I got married!!!

Hi Ladies!

I know I've been gone for quite a LONG time, quite frankly probably so long no one remembers me since I didn't even post that much before! But I did see the post for everyone who got married 5/17/2008 so I just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all the well wishes and congrats to everyone who got married over the past few weeks!

Another reason I haven't been posting is because my computer wouldn't let me! No matter what I did, it just wouldn't let me log in! And finally, viola, I'm back on again! (i am obviously not THAT computer savvy I was probably doing something stupid).

Anyway, our wedding went off without a hitch! The weather friday was terrible, pouring rain and causing most of my bridal party to arrive late, and our rehersal to run three hours late, and our dinner two hours late! But saturday turned out to be perfect - not a cloud in the sky, not too hot and not a hint of rain. We were truly blessed and lucky!

Here''s a pic of of our reception room. Last minute we decided to hang the paper lanterns. I love how it turned out.

Our cake. I actually didn''t realize how much I disliked the swirls on the cake because I never really looked at it upclose. But it doesn''t matter because when I first saw it I thought it looked great and loved how the flowers and the ribbons turned out. But when you look at the swirls closely they just weren''t what I had imagined. Oops!

Oh it was white vanilla cake with a layer of white chocolate mousse, and a layer of chocolate mouse and raspberry filling. mmmm! Delicious!

A detail picture of our table layouts. Nothing really fancy but everyone loved the centerpieces and as far as I know the candy and the vases we gave out. Or well, everyone took them home so I take that as a sign of "not disliking them". haha

Close up of the centerpiece flowers. I love how they turned out. They were really fresh and vibrant looking without being TOO hot pink.

Here''s one of my favorite details of the wedding. I originally had wanted to hang the escort cards off the branch but decided that there were too many for the branch and thought that it would be bad if everyone was crowding around it trying to pull it off the branch. I forsaw a disaster waiting to happen. So a friend suggested we hang some photos of it, and I think it turned out quite nice. Best part is that my friend took it home for decoration in her own home! (sans the photos of us of course...we would have kept it but we didn''t want to have to transport it to our new home for fear it would turn into kindling if we moved it too far!)

Oh, one more pic. Our groom''s cake! Our best friend from college made it. It''s in the shape of a sheep! (it''s an inside joke) Those are the bridesmaids bouquets next to it. I''ll see if I can post a pic of their dresses.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments! We also loved the Groom''s cake. It''s mostly made out of fondant so we didn''t actually bother to eat it. Also the nose part is actually a baseball covered in fondant!

Selkie - We didn''t get married in NYC, but we got ready beforehand and went back afterwards to the city. We got married further up north out of the city. So we rent this big party bus to drive the bridal party up and down. It was awesome! The city shots were really important to us that''s why we did it with the funny logisitics. It turned out to be totally worth it!

everything was gorgeous, your bouquet was fantastic!!! are those peonies?? your centerpieces were beautiful too, i love pink and red and the lanterns hanging from the chandeliers really added a lot to the decor.

karasue - yes they are! i originally wanted just a big fluffy bunch of peonies but then I round a picture of a sweet pea bouquet and the ruffles of the sweet peas and the delicateness of the petals was just too nice to pass up! So it''s peonies, sweet peas, cymbidium orchids and mini cala lillies! my florist did an amazing job. I just handed him the picture and said "make me this!" same with the centerpieces. those are roses, hydrangeas, and tulips!
