For some reason the buttoned area looks a lot 'lower' bustled then it does when I first tried the sample dress on... or maybe it's just the size of the dress? The sample size is two sizes smaller than the dress they ordered for me. They spent a LONG time pinning on that first fitting. I had no idea they could do a ton of pleats then tuck them like they did on my bustle. It's like a whole row of pleats all side by side, then up and under! I thought it was going to be just lifted up in a few places or french bustled. I had no clue! I think it's clever though!

it''s hard to tell about the buttons since your butt isn''t in the second picture as a point of reference, but they probably just look lower with it bustled because you don''t have the expanse of train going with it, so it''s an optical illusion kind of thing. it looks great--i like that they did kind of an internal bustle. it would''ve looked weird if you had a big poof on your booty when the rest of the dress is so streamlined. you look lovely, violet! the bridesmaid dresses are really cute, too--love the pockets!
