How cool!!! I have a date twin!!! This is just too cool! Are you guys doing anything fun with the date? Our wedding is going to be a formal evening wedding so we can''t do too much but here is what we got so far:

One of our favors will be packets of shamrock seeds imported from Ireland with a little ''lucky'' saying on it
Placing the myth of Friday the 13th at each table on nice card stock
Instead of having table numbers, we are doing table letters with each table being the 13th i.e. Table 13-A, Table 13-B

My fiance have always done things differently so why not get married on a Friday the 13th! No one will forget our dates that is for sure!

I think it''s a lot of fun to pick this wedding date and you''re right, NO ONE will forget it!
Have you gotten many raised eyebrows yet? Some people I told thought it was AWFUL, which just makes it all the more fun

As for our plans, many of the ladies here have heard this before...

We picked Friday the 13th because my FI is a horror writer!

We''re having a little private elopement ceremony in the garden at the Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond, VA- it''s beautiful, not at all horror-ish! (this is my second marriage and FI does not like attention, so it''s the perfect little ceremony for us) I''m looking at a-line gowns with very small black embroidery, just to be different and he''ll be in a black suit. We''re hiring a photographer for the afternoon and then we''re going to have an outrageous dinner somewhere, so it will be a special day all around.

When we get back from our honeymoon we''re having a family dinner and then on Halloween weekend we''re having a big costume wedding party for the friends- I''ll be wearing my dress but will probably be a little goulish for the event

How awesome! That is really cool that your fiance is a horror writer, and at the Poe museum! How perfect! I have had quite a few people very taken aback by the day. I always hear, "On a Friday the 13th, what were you thinking?" I just say well have you honestly ever had a bad Friday the 13th? I have not had one person say that they have, they just say well no, but that is just kinda weird! LOL let them think that. I love our wedding date!!! I am glad you like the ideas for our wedding. We like the idea of incorporating things to show that we know that it is a Friday the 13th and that we are fine with it! I think most people expect us to just pretend like oh, haha we didn''t notice. I love the idea of having some black on your wedding dress. That is so original. Like I said my fiance and I don''t do things typically. My engagement ring is a diamond with sapphires. Everyone always asks if they are my birthstone, I say "No they aren''t, I just like blue" Because of the shape of my engagement ring my eternity wedding band is being sized for my right hand and I will wear it on that hand most of the time. People think that is odd too, but oh well!
