People are likely to tell you what diamonds they wore to the opera....
How's this review of, not the opera, but ballet. This is a production from the Kirov.... "Such is the beauty of Karinska's costumes... that audiences ... gasped each time the curtain was raised on Peter Harvey's bare set, which features jewels (the light changing them from emeralds to rubies to diamonds) dripping down the backdrop. To their great credit, the Kirov dancers lived up to the promise of enchantment implicit in the bejeweled silk bodices..." |
