Suggest AlternativesIf a client comes to me for an appraisal, it would be extremely unethical to suggest another venue for purchasing a similar item. If the item is not up to standards of acceptability, I recommend they go back to the original seller and start over.

Cut Info in ReportMy reports have dimensions, table and total depth, crown angle and pavilion depth, culet, girdle and fluorescence information as well as polish and symetry.
Other Areas Of ExpertiseBecause of my many years in the estate and retail area, I am competent in recognizing and valuing old cut stones, reproductions and antiques. The country of origin areas I leave to the labs
Unique ServicesI have a mobile lab, laptop and printer to appraise in the client''s home or office. I also take clients at my private office which is in walking distance of the Shady Grove Metro stop.
PublicationsI have had articles published in the Travel Section of The Washington Post, Washington Woman and Your Health. These articles are available in their entirety on my website.
TurnaroundI do all appraisals at the time of evaluation except where further research is required. When this is necessary, the documents is mailed in a timely manner.   Clients can attend appraisal sessions
Can Receive Directly from Vendors
Services for Other BusinessesI have corporate accounts and keep the clientele separate. Should a conflict arise, I would absolutely disclose to the client and suggest another independent in the area
OpinionI am hired to give my opinion on what the client has purchased or inherited as well as many other types of evaluations and will give all of the information that I can make available. It is important for the client to understand that there are many different markets in which a piece is evaluated and "what it''s worth" will be different depending on those markets. I am happy to spend as much time as necessary to assist the client in understanding what they are asking for and what they will be receiving.

list any information in accompanying grading reports
Other Areas Of ExpertiseI believe that I can usually detect reproductions, and treatments,
and although I can often tell country of origin - I leave that for the BIG
(GIA, AGTA) labs - they get $500 for a country of origin report

Can Receive Directly from Vendors
Services for Other BusinessesI do appraisals for various jewelry stores but not on the store
merchandise. If I think there is the slightest reason for conflict of
interest - I always tell the client.
OpinionClients need to know that "ego" appraisals don’t help them, it just
increases the amount of insurance they pay, not what they will receive if
the item is lost or stolen.
As I don’t sell any jewelry, I can be objective with no hidden agenda.
